Kim was born in Lima, Ohio, and spent her early childhood in the suburbs of Philadelphia before relocating to Raleigh, North Carolina, at the age of 10. It was there that she discovered her passion for dance through public school programs. By the age of 12, she began formal training in jazz, hip hop, and ballet at Carolina Dance Center. While in high school, Kim served as Dance Captain of the Leesville Dance Ensemble.
After graduating high school, Kim began working as a choreographer and guest teacher at numerous studios and schools across North Carolina. She continued her training at North Carolina Dance Institute (NCDI), where she was soon invited to join the faculty under Kirstie Spadie's mentorship. She continues to teach at NCDI and Barriskill Dance Theater in Durham in addition to her classes at the Wake Forest Academy of Fine Arts.
Kim is also a company member and choreographer with Elevate, a Raleigh- and Charleston-based dance and entertainment company. Through her work with Elevate, she has performed and choreographed for shows in Cabo, Dubai, Las Vegas, Nashville, Georgia, and other locations nationwide.
Outside of the studio and stage, Kim enjoys spending time with her two rescue dogs, Bear and Junie, and indulging in her favorite pastime—shopping.
